A three-inning Event game gives each batter one, maybe two plate appearances. On its face that sounds like a PXP disaster — and per game, it is modest. But the per-hour math tells a different story. For hitters in Events this is a mild annoyance and sometimes a hidden gift: you were only getting two plate appearances anyway, and a faster game means a faster requeue, which can actually raise your per-hour rate. For pitchers in Ranked it’s a real cost: a quit in the fourth inning erases the four or five innings of strikeout PXP your ace was about to compile.
