Every game year, the Diamond Dynasty community runs the same experiment. Players try paralleling cards in Ranked, in Events, in Mini Seasons, in full 9-inning Play vs. CPU games — and every year a huge share of them end up back in the same place: attacking strongholds on a Conquest map, three innings at a time, on the highest difficulty they can handle. Stronghold games are 3 innings

A stronghold attack is a fixed 3-inning game against the CPU. There’s no settings menu to fiddle with and no way to accidentally queue a 9-inning marathon. You get roughly 12–15 plate appearances for your lineup and 3 innings for your pitcher in a game that often wraps in 12–18 real-world minutes.

You choose the difficulty

Unlike online modes, Conquest lets you play stronghold games on Legend or G.O.A.T., where the difficulty multiplier is at its offline maximum. You control the matchup

The CPU pitching staff on a Conquest map is whatever the map designer gave that team — often modest overall ratings. Facing an 78-overall starter on Legend is a very different proposition from facing a human spamming sinkers low-and-away in Ranked. Your hit volume stays high even at maximum difficulty.

The map pays you twice

Reinforce

You receive new fans (your army units, effectively) based on how much territory you control, and you place them on hexes you own. More territory means more fans per turn, which compounds as the map progresses.

Steal fans

Most maps let you siphon fans from enemy strongholds a limited number of times per turn. Stealing weakens the enemy and pads your stacks. It costs no gameplay time — it’s a menu action.

Attack territory

Moving fans into an adjacent enemy or neutral hex triggers a battle. Regular hexes can be simulated — the game resolves the fight instantly based on your fan advantage — or played on the field. Played games are guaranteed wins regardless of fan counts.

Attack strongholds

Here’s the part that matters for PXP: stronghold attacks cannot be simulated. They must be played as 3-inning games against the CPU, at a difficulty you select. These mandatory 3-inning games are your farm.

The optimal farming posture follows directly from those rules: sim everything that can be simmed, and play only the strongholds. Regular territory battles earn you nothing card-specific worth the time; a simmed win with a 2:1 fan advantage resolves in two seconds. Good to know: some maps are repeatable — you can complete them, claim the rewards that reset, and run them again. Your best hitters bat in the first inning of every game. In a 3-inning game, your 1–4 hitters might each get 2 plate appearances across 3 innings — a high share of total game time spent on your most productive cards. Stretch the game to 9 innings and you’re spending large blocks of time on the bottom of the order, on defensive half-innings where your hitters earn nothing, and on late-game situations that add minutes without adding proportional stat actions for your target cards. Some earning events are per-game rather than per-action — a pitcher’s win credit, for instance. Three 3-inning games can hand your starter three win credits in the time one 9-inning game hands him one. Conquest is the perfect laboratory for finding your personal ceiling, because the CPU opposition is consistent and the games are short. Run this once per game year:

Play three stronghold games on Hall of Fame. Record your target card’s combined stat line — hits by type, RBI, runs, walks for hitters; innings, strikeouts, and the win for pitchers.

Play three more on Legend, then three on G.O.A.T. Same lineup, same map, same focus level. Record the same stat lines.

A Conquest farm lives or dies on preparation. The games are short; there is no time to recover from a sloppy setup mid-session. Five minutes of pre-run configuration routinely adds 20–30% to a session’s output. 5.1 Build the lineup around targets, not overall rating

PXP only flows to cards that record stats. Every lineup slot occupied by a card you don’t care about leveling is a slot earning dead PXP. The farming lineup rules:

Targets bat 1 through 4

In a 3-inning game, the top of the order is the only part guaranteed multiple plate appearances. Your primary parallel target hits leadoff or second — full stop. Secondary targets fill the 2–4 holes. Cards batting 7th–9th may see one plate appearance or none.

Efficient Conquest farming is less about heroic baseball and more about a clean, repeatable loop you can run on autopilot. The loop below is the distilled version of how high-volume grinders move through a map. Once it becomes muscle memory, the menu time between 3-inning games shrinks to almost nothing — which is exactly where casual players bleed the most time.

1 Scan & reinforce

Drop your new fans onto the front-line hexes pointing at the nearest stronghold. Keep one fan on interior tiles; defense is a waste in CPU Conquest.

2 Steal fans

Use every available steal action against the stronghold you’re marching toward. It weakens the target and feeds your attack stacks for free.

3 Sim the path

Simulate every regular-territory battle where you hold roughly a 2:1 fan edge. Never manually play a simmable tile — it earns nothing your stronghold games won’t earn better.

4 Play the stronghold

The forced 3-inning game, on your tested farming difficulty. This is the only place real controller time is spent — and the only place PXP flows.

5 Claim & repeat

Grab any hidden-tile or goal rewards you’ve uncovered, end the turn, and roll into the next stronghold approach. On repeatable maps: finish, reset, run it again.

Two refinements separate good loops from great ones. First, route before you march. When the map opens, spend thirty seconds identifying the shortest path that touches every stronghold, and expand along that line only — grabbing every neutral hex you pass is how a 45-minute map becomes a two-hour map. Territory percentage goals can usually be cleaned up with end-of-map simming sprees once strongholds are down. Second, batch your turns. Steal-sim-steal-sim until a stronghold attack is actually available, then play two or three stronghold games back to back if the map allows. Clustering your gameplay keeps you mechanically warm, and warm hands raise the production side of the multiplier equation.

7. Which Maps to Farm — and Which to Skip

Not all Conquest maps are farming maps. Maps differ wildly in stronghold density, simmable filler, repeatability, and reward layers, and picking the wrong archetype can halve your stronghold games per hour. Map names rotate with each game year and each content season, so think in archetypes rather than specific titles:

Three selection rules keep your map queue honest. Rule one: hidden rewards are a bonus, not a reason. A map with great hidden packs but two distant strongholds is a treasure hunt, not a farm — clear it once, then go back to your repeatable. Rule two: check whether the map locks difficulty. Some special maps force a fixed difficulty on stronghold games; if it’s locked below your tested farming setting, your per-game PXP drops accordingly, and you should weight that map down. Manually playing simmable tiles

The single biggest leak. Regular territory battles feel like “more baseball, more PXP,” but every minute spent on a tile you could sim at a 2:1 advantage is a minute stolen from a stronghold game at full earning rate. Sim ruthlessly; play only what the map forces you to play.

Farming with a showcase lineup instead of a target lineup

Running your best 99-overall squad feels great and earns nothing useful if those cards are already maxed. Audit your lineup before every run: if a card doesn’t need PXP and isn’t required for a mission, it’s occupying a slot a target card should hold.

Confusing currencies mid-grind

Conquest pays out account XP, program progress, and PXP simultaneously, and the three move at different speeds. Grinders regularly celebrate a fat program bar while their target card barely moved — or panic about a “broken” card that was actually earning fine. Completing 100% of a mega map “while I’m here”

Sunk-cost cartography. Once the strongholds are down and the worthwhile rewards claimed, sweeping a 400-hex map to 100% for a modest completion bonus is one of the lowest-value hours in Diamond Dynasty. Take the loot, leave, return to your repeatable.

Grinding without a number

Opening Conquest with “I’ll grind for a while” produces sessions that end in vague disappointment.
